// ABOUT — WHAT AIS DARK IS

EVIDENCE, NOT
ATTRIBUTION.

AIS Dark reconstructs what a vessel did from its own transmissions, checked against registries, courts, sanctions lists and independent reporting where they exist. Every finding is anchored to the IMO number, graded for how it was established, and published with what would prove it wrong.

01

ANCHORED TO THE IMO

Names change. Flags change. MMSIs rotate. The IMO number is issued at build and never changes — every file resolves the hull through it.

02

EVERY CLAIM GRADED

A: primary record. B: corroborated reporting. C: reported, limits noted. Advisory identifications are never rendered as designations.

03

EXCLUSIONS PUBLISHED

Silences that don’t survive corroboration are recorded as excluded, with the reason stated — not quietly dropped from the record.

CONFIDENTIAL

Commissions are never disclosed. Conflicts are checked before scope is confirmed.

INDEPENDENT

No vessel interests, no registries, no insurer affiliations. The record is the only client we serve.

LIMITS, STATED

Not legal advice. Attribution of responsibility rests with the recipient. Limits are written into every file — not buried in footnotes.

The published dossiers are the clearest statement of method — full reconstructions, evidence graded, exclusions stated, nothing held back for a paying client that isn't already in the free file.
